Woke Up With Pain My Ankle

MUSEUM OF GUITAR AND JOSE LUIS vihuela Romanillos

meant for me a pleasant surprise to find this museum, which opened a few months ago, at the last visit I made with my colleagues in the Reading Workshop. I think we all were pleasantly surprised that the University of Alcalá also has joined the initiative.

What made this museum a reality began with the provincial council of Sigüenza acquired the file and work tools , Which is the base of the famous guitar museum Santos Hernandez (1873 - 1943) one of the most important figures in the construction of the English guitar.

collaborated Sigüenza City Council, the Community Board, the County and the University of Alcalá, the latter yielding a room at the Casa del Doncel to house the museum.

Luis Romanillos, musicologist, known guitar maker, and his wife Marian Harris, provided a number of instruments from his collection and have received several donations to enrich its collection.

The English guitar owes its origin to Mudejar communities. In the fifteenth century Toledo was a major construction union lutes. When the lute comes into disuse appear viol: history of the English guitar. It was a very similar to today's guitar, a little smaller with twelve strings.

Spain is the country that created the universal instrument that currently there was a need and creating a center that recognizes the fact: the vihuela and the guitar are two tools that we have been able to invent the English.
The museum has among its projects the study and dissemination of techniques have been developed over five centuries. The museum was to create an interpretive center of the English vihuela and guitar, with workshops for recovery, files, temporary exhibitions, conferences, courses, seminars and conferences. In short, it's about creating a living museum which serves to make known what is the guitar for the culture because the English guitar is an instrument with specific characteristics.

Note:

In Madrid there is an important private collection of guitar, Felix Manzanero. And in Jerez de la Frontera there is a museum. That's it. It remains, therefore, the prospect of a splendid job done.
